KEINNARA LODGE LOIKAW (LODGGY REVIEW)
Founded in 2015, Kiennara Lodge Loikaw was one of the first “luxury” hotels in Loikaw, the capital of Kayah State. It is less than 5 min drive from either Loikaw airport or the bus terminal. It also lies right opposite of the golf course.
Nestled in a large compound, the whole premise comprises of single story buildings and bungalows spread across the compound. The hotel made the swimming pool as the main focal, which is hard to miss. It is a decent sized infinity pool which overlooks the golf course. 5.0 out of 5.0
We took the overnight bus and arrived at 6 am. The hotel does complementary pick up from either the bus or the airport. Check-in process was swift and painless. It was done before you know it. Our assigned room was occupied on arrival, so they let us use another room in order for us to clean up and rest until our room was available. This kind of service was greatly appreciated. 5.0 out of 5.0
There are 2 types of rooms; Deluxe and Executive Suite Rooms. We booked the deluxe rooms, which was a bungalow type building. The room was large and roomy with traditional wood finish. There is a patio/entrance deck where you can chill out during your down time. The bathrooms were well equipped but they could use better quality amenities. The wooden floors were also prone to scratches. 4.8 out of 5.0
The Resort is just a stone throw away from the golf club and both the airport and the bus terminal. It also lies right next door to the cultural museum. It takes less than 7 minutes to reach the city center and Taung Kwe Pagoda. Kayah Resort arranges day tours for you which include Taung Kwe Pagoda, Lawpita Waterfall to name a few. It is recommended to book a tour while in Loikaw as some areas need to apply for permission prior to your trip. On our tour, the highlights were Lawlita Powerplant, Kayan village, Kayah Community Based tourism Village. 5.0 out of 5.0
We had all our meals; breakfast, lunch and dinner; at the hotel. I was thoroughly surprised by the quality of the food and how tastily they were. They served traditional kayah food, Myanmar, Asian and western cuisine. The breakfast was plentiful and Kayah sausage and Shan Hnin Htote served at breakfast was tasteful and I highly recommended you to buy as presents. The waiters were really attentive too. 5.0 out of 5.0
The pool, the hospitable staffs and the arranged tours.
The neighborhood can be slightly dark at night.
Loikaw is an upcoming destination with plenty of natural beauty and communities to explore. Kayah Resort should be your first choice in accommodation and the travel partner to explore. Stayed November 2017
